From Dairy to Destination

The Beginning.
Morris and Pearl Heisler founded Heisler’s Cloverleaf Dairy in 1924. What began as a local door-to-door milk business grew into a name generations of Schuylkill County families would come to know and love.
The Scoop That Changed Everything.
In 1957, the Heislers began making ice cream and opened the Dairy Bar in Lewistown Valley.
Made right on the premises, Heisler’s ice cream quickly became the heart of a growing country destination and a tradition worth passing down.
Come for a Cone. Stay for the Fun.
Miniature golf, a driving range, the Waffle Shop, a gift shop and an arcade gave families more reasons to make the trip.
In 2003, the original miniature golf course was replaced with two new 18-hole courses. The Waffle Shop eventually closed, but the ice cream, golf and good times kept going.
Carried Forward with Care.
Morris’s nephew, Leonard Ostergaard, and his wife, Ann, owned and operated Heisler’s for more than four decades.
Together with their team, they expanded the business while preserving the quality, value and friendly service that made Heisler’s a local landmark.

A Fresh New Chapter.
In 2026, Dwight and Kathi Zimmerman became the first new family to own Heisler’s in more than a century.
Already owners of the popular Pretzel Hut in Lancaster County, the Zimmermans brought fresh energy, thoughtful improvements and a Pretzel Hut outpost to Heisler’s. Just as importantly, they kept the homemade hard ice cream recipe, recreation and traditions people have loved for generations.
Today, Heisler’s Creamery is ready to make its next century just as memorable as its first.

The ice cream was honestly some of the best I’ve ever had super creamy, flavorful, and clearly homemade. You definitely get your money’s worth because the scoops are huge!
